Switching Things Up

I made a couple of small changes around my apartment this weekend, here's what I did:

See that chair next to my bed, well...

I like it, but it normally just collects laundry that needs to be folded.

So I moved the chair to my living room - a room where I'm more often in need of some extra seating.

And, while perusing the aisles at HomeGoods (a somewhat typical weekend ritual of mine), I fell in love with this textured bath mat/ throw rug. It was just $9.99 so I bought it to help visually fill the now chair-less space on this side of my bed.

Here's how it looks:

And, remember this Matisse print I had hung next to my nightstand on the far side of my bed?

Well, I still really like it, but I decided to switch things up and hang this slightly bigger framed Matisse poster I found at Goodwill for less than $10.

And, in other news, I decided to finally do something about this little towel hook in my bathroom which doesn't drape my towel out enough to ensure that it dries between showers.

So I bought a chrome towel bar - it was just $5.45 on Amazon, and installed it in less than ten minutes using my screwdriver, level, and utility scissors.

Sexy, right?

And, I'm delighted to report that it did the trick - my towel now fully dries between showers.

Oh and I'm not sure I've showed you this before - I have an EXIT sign hanging above the door in my bathroom. I hung it a while back, it's a joke really - as if you couldn't find the exit in a bathroom that's a mere 35 square feet.

So, those are the tweaks I made around my apartment this weekend - nothing too exciting, but all in all, I think it's the small continual changes like these that keep me loving my space.

How was your weekend? Tackle any small projects around your place?
