I'm taking three classes this semester so I bought myself a simple three-subject notebook. It was like any other three-subject notebook you've ever seen, until I made these custom labels for it.
I made 'em in Word using AutoShapes. The text overtop is called Bebas - I downloaded for free from DaFont.com.
I printed the labels on cardstock, cut them out, and then attached them to my notebook with clear packing tape.
Here's the cover of my notebook:
Here's how the newly labeled subject folders look:
I was really pleased with how the labels turned out - they're somewhat similar to these labels and these labels which I made a part of other projects. I also made a label to jazz up my otherwise drab Mead school planner.
In addition to my planner and three-subject notebook, these are the essential school supplies I carry with me to every class:
- Carmex lip balm - sitting in class with chapped lips is the pits.
- A highlighter in a fun color - the fun color is key because I use it to draw and write as much or more than I use it to highlight.
- A black rollerball pen - you never know when you're going to have to write or sign something fancy.
- A USB flash drive - for transporting computer files. This 16GB can hold as many as 4,800 images, and I got it for just $9 on Amazon
.
- A blue ballpoint pen - for taking notes in class I prefer blue ink for whatever reason.
- A wite-out roller - perhaps I'm a perfectionist.
- I carry supplies 1-6 in this cute zippered bag - it's by Lulu Gunniess and was a present from my Mom.
And, because this grad school girl is on a tight budget, I just ordered this classic but budget friendly school tote from Lands' End.
Am I alone, or do you get inordinately excited about school supplies too?

Cute!! School supplies are my fav. This is my first semester since graduating and I still had to go buy some school supplies b/c a girl can never have enough. New sharpies & notebooks are always a necessity.
Good luck with school!
