Bathroom Makeover Ideas

Jenna, one of my sister's good friends, recently opened a clothing consignment boutique in downtown Bethesda.  Pretty badass for a 22 year old, or anyone, don't you think?

She's got so many gorgeous designer clothes for sale.  If you're in the area you must stop by - the address is 8118 Woodmont Ave.

Unlike the clothes, the boutique's bathroom is not so gorgeous. And, it's not that big of a deal because most customers won't have occasion to see the bathroom, but Jenna wants to do something about it.  This is what it currently looks like:

The purple tile is unfortunate, but here's how I'm thinking we could spruce it up on the cheap:

1. With three yards of this black and white striped fabric from Ikea we could make a curtain to cover the shower/storage area (on the left when you enter the bathroom).

2. We could make a simple white curtain to cover the window using one yard of this fabric from Ikea.

3. We could frame some designer shopping bags as fun colorful art.  Ikea's RIBBA frames come in a variety of sizes and would probably work well.

4. This oval mirror is just $9.99 and would be a major improvement over the plastic framed mirror currently hanging above the sink.

5.  We could make a crisp tailored-looking skirt for the sink using two yards of this black fabric and some grosgrain ribbon and velcro.

6. We could replace the current soap dispenser with this bright one.

7.  We could repot the plant into this cutie plum colored pot.

And, right now the bathroom has a red floral rug that's probably got to go.  I'm inclined to think the bathroom would be just fine without a rug.  That said, I think this zig zag rug from Urban Outfitters might look nice.

So, what do you think?

As always, thank you for reading! If you haven't subscribed yet, details about how to do that here.

And, don't forget to stop by Jenna's store next time you're in Bethesda!
