Did you see the signs at Nordstrom about how they're not "decking their halls" until November 27 becasue they "like the idea of celebrating one holiday at a time?" I agree - there will be no Christmas decorating going on in my apartment until after Thanksgiving. But to tide myself over until then, I made this winter candle.
It was inspired by this driftwood candle at Anthropologie. They have some really great home accesories at Anthropologie, but sadly they're all pretty pricey - like this candle which was $78.
I used a candle in a glass vase (that I already had - it was a gift from Claire, it smells like birthday cake and I love it), some glass glue (leftover from my rock bowl project), twigs gathered from my front yard, and a small hand saw.
I sawed the twigs down to size and chopped off any bent parts that would have prevented them from laying flat. Then I glued the twigs onto the glass - allowing the first side to dry completely before moving on to the next. Easy peasy.
So, have you been patiently waiting to being put up your holiday decorations, or have you already started?
